One-Day Kintsugi Class

A beginner-friendly introduction to traditional kintsugi. Participants will learn the basic techniques of repair using natural urushi lacquer. Because the full process takes about 2 months, each person will complete a partially prepared ceramic plate and take it home.

Traditional Kintsugi Masterclass

Learn the full kintsugi repair process over 4-5 classes. Participants may bring their own broken objects and repair it step by step in class.

Safety Notice

Both classes use natural urushi lacquer, which contains urushiol (the same compound in poison ivy) and may cause an allergic reaction. Urushi will be applied with paint brushes only, and participants will not touch it directly. Protective gloves and arm covers are provided, and safety instructions will be given before urushi is handled. By joining the class, participants acknowledge and accept the risk. Not suitable for individuals with severe urushiol allergies.
